Sometimes...

Sometimes times you have to start from square one...(although nothing IS square).

Sometimes...it ain't pretty.

Sometimes things are prettier in pink...(that's not the kitchen, by the way).

Sometimes you wake up to surprising things...

Sometimes you have to spread out your mess for everyone to see...

Sometimes you get a horrible haircut and cry for an hour...

Splotchy face, red, puffy eyes on top of a shoddy new do? You really weren't expecting a picture, were you?

But then, sometimes you have 5 ripe bananas...

They're in there, I promise...(along with blueberries or chocolate chips or apples).

Sometimes you have to wait for a recipe because the cook is moving/packing/setting up a classroom/new house/sanding/painting/adjusting to the new helmet-head.

You'll get it...sometime.

Construction and Demo

Things are coming along at the house.

My new pantry...isn't it lovely?

Eventually Little B's bathroom...now just for visiting family and friends. (See Mimi - A BATHTUB!)

Spare bedroom, eventually Little B's bedroom when she's a teenager and can't stand to be around us for more than 30 seconds at a time. Of course, with this room and walk-in closet comes the duty of changing air filters.

We are very excited.  The kitchen is due to start next week, which is what I am most excited about!  I also discovered hardwood floors under the vinyl tile.  Stoked and frightened about that.  That may be one DIY project I can't handle on my own, nor one I want to pay someone to do.  We'll see how that plays itself out.

And although the construction is exciting, the biggest thing to happen is this...

Need a close up? Of course you do!

The demo we didn't plan.  At least we don't have to pay to replace this...not yet, anyway!

This and That

I didn't fall off the face of the Earth.  I've been doing a lot!

A little bit of this...

A little bit of that...

And of course, a little...

But what is keeping me wondering if we'll end up in the poor house the busiest is this....

I wanted to send out one of those post cards that missionaries give out a reminders to pray for them. I think people doing renovations should do the same thing.

Good idea, right?

Mr. B said no.

I'll do my best to keep you updated.  And maybe there will be a few recipes if I'm lucky.  Although I have a feeling there will be a lot of Taco Bell.

A. LOT.
